For La Lettre du Continent, despite appearances, the Ali Bongo’s PDG is plagued by internal dissensions, to the point that it is struggling to develop the necessary cohesion to go to the upcoming legislative election.

Presumably, the mini-congress of the PDG held in October and November 2017 in Libreville, did not put order in that party. The ongoing economic crisis, added to the political crisis since the 2016 presidential election, have made the members of that party lose all confidence. His new Secretary General, Eric Dodo Bounguendza, has had little impact. La Lettre du Continent states that these dissensions could benefit the opposition.

In Lambaréné, Joël Ogouma and Richard Auguste Onouviet are tearing each other apart. The latter, Grand Master of the Symbolic Grand Lodge of Gabon (GLSG), is seen as running for the legislative election as an independent candidate against Ogouma who is himself the auditor of the Grand Lodge of Gabon (GLG) led by Ali Bongo.

In Woleu-Ntem, La Lettre du Continent tells us that René Ndemezo'o Obiang is planning to run for the legislative election against Emmanuel Ondo Methogo and Pastor Ngoua N'neme.

Finally, La Lettre du Continent confirms that Jean Ping has already announced his refusal to participate in this election.

Pour La Lettre du Continent, malgré les apparences, le PDG d'Ali Bongo serait laminé par des dissensions internes, à tel point qu’il peinerait à développer la cohésion nécessaire pour affronter les législatives à venir.

Vraisemblablement, le mini-congrès du PDG tenu en octobre et novembre 2017 à Libreville, n’aurait pas mis de l’ordre au sein de ce parti. La crise économique en cours, ajoutée à la crise politique depuis la présidentielle de 2016, ont fait perdre toute confiance aux membres de ce parti. Son nouveau Secrétaire Général, Eric Dodo Bounguendza, n’a que peu d’impact. La Lettre du Continent affirme que ces dissensions pourraient favoriser l’opposition.

Ce dernier, Grand-Maître de la Grande Loge Symbolique du Gabon (GLSG), est pressenti se présenter aux legislatives comme candidat indépendant contre Ogouma qui est lui-même commissaire aux comptes de la Grande Loge du Gabon (GLG) dirigée par Ali Bongo.
