A summit between the European Union (EU) and the African Union (AU) has just been held in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire. The European Union was represented by Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic; on the African side, there was a pitiful swarm of Heads of State from French speaking Africa, who were competing for opportunities to be filmed in the presence of Emmanuel Macron, to use that as an alibi for having article written in the official press of their country, saying that everything was going well between Macron and them. Lamentable!

On one side, there was Emmanuel Macron who has been in power only since May 2017, having been election democratically in a free and fair election. He represents the EU that always looks at international relations as investment that must yield dividends. This means that the EU is looking for a return on its investment, in whatever it does in Africa. The EU is looking for what is best for Europe; as simple as that!

On the other side, a bunch of African leaders who have created a situation of misery for their people, because they think that being a life time president is their natural right. A bunch that routinely kills, tortures and imprisons their population just to prolong their stay in power. Let us take a look at the structure of that organization that is supposed to represent Africa and solve its problems:

-Alpha Conde, the President of Guinea, is the current AU President.

-Before Alpha Conde, Idriss Deby was AU President and had his sister-in-law, Fatima Haram Acyl, appointed as Vice-President of the AU Commission.

- Alpha Condé, the current President was badly elected in Guinea

- After Conde's presidency, it will be Kagame's turn, another bloody dictator who is killing in eastern DRC

- The AU is ultimately a grouping of presidents "not very well elected"

- What can the Gabonese people expect from the AU as long as dictators sit there?

- The EU, the OIF and the AU covered the elections in Gabon in August 2016. The AU is the only one of the three bodies that did not make its report public

-UA is missing in the treatment of the situation in Gabon, despite the succession of 2 summits since Ali Bongo’s coup d’Etat in 2016

- The AU has been showing itself for some years by appointing at its lead some heads of State engaged in an election to run for a new term in their country, as if a way of disregarding the freedom of choice of peoples. This was the case with Idriss Déby or Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz

- The AU is an organization burdened by bureaucratic red tape, financial dependence on international donors (3/4 of its resources), unfitness in the implementation of decisions, and difficulties in questioning itself

- The AU is characterized by shameful dependence in key areas such as peace and security. Without the billions coughed up by the EU for these operations, the only merit of the AU would be to helplessly assist in the conflicts fueled largely by the bad governance of dictators

- The AU apparently refuses to adapt to a changing Africa

- The Gabonese Resistance will show the AU that times have changed and that the choice of the people will triumph regardless of the shenanigans within that organization

- At the AU, Ali Bongo finds objective support from illegitimate heads of state like himself

- The AU is a passive organization that does not realize that the world has evolved

- The AU is dictators’ club

Un sommet entre l’Union européenne (UE) et l’Union africaine (UA) vient de se tenir à Abidjan, en Côte d’Ivoire. L’Union Européenne était représentée par Emmanuel Macron, le Président de la République Française ; côté africain, il y avait un fourmillement pitoyable de Chefs d’Etats du pré-carré Français en Afrique, qui se disputaient les opportunités de se faire filmer en présence d’Emmanuel Macron, pour s’en servir comme alibi pour faire écrire dans la presse officielle de leur pays, que tout allait bien entre Macron et eux. Lamentable !

D’un côté, il y avait Emmanuel Macron qui n’est au pouvoir que depuis May 2017, après avoir été élu démocratiquement lors d'une élection libre et juste. Il représente l'UE qui considère toujours les relations internationales comme des investissements qui doivent produire des dividendes. Cela signifie que l'UE recherche un retour sur son investissement, quel qu'il soit en Afrique. L'UE cherche ce qui profite à l'Europe; c’est aussi simple que cela!

De l'autre côté, un groupe de dirigeants africains qui a créé une situation de misère pour son peuple, parce que ces gens pensent qu'être président à vie est leur droit naturel. Un groupe qui tue, torture et emprisonne régulièrement sa population juste pour prolonger sa longévité au pouvoir. Jetons un coup d'œil sur la structure de l’UA censée représenter l'Afrique et résoudre ses problèmes:

-Alpha Condé, le Président de la Guinée, est l’actuel Président de l’UA.

-Avant Alpha Condé, Idriss Déby était Président de l’UA et il y avait fait placer sa belle-sœur, Fatima Haram Acyl, comme Vice-présidente de la Commission de l’UA.

- Alpha Condé, le Président en exercice a été mal élu en Guinée

- Après la présidence de Condé, ce sera au tour de Kagamé, un autre dictateur sanguinaire qui tue dans l’Est de la RDC

- L'UA n’est en définitive qu’un repère de présidents "élus pas comme on l'entend"

- Que peuvent attendre les Gabonais de l'UA tant que les dictateurs y siègent ?

- L'UE, l'OIF et l'UA ont couvert les élections au Gabon d’août 2016. L'UA est le seul des trois organismes à n'avoir pas rendu public son rapport

-L'UA est absente du traitement de la situation du Gabon, et ce malgré la succession de 2 Sommets depuis le coup d'Etat d'Ali Bongo en 2016

- L'UA s'est illustrée depuis quelques années en nommant à sa tête certains chefs d'Etat engagés dans une élection pour briguer un nouveau mandat dans leur pays, comme une manière de ne pas tenir compte de la liberté de choix des peuples. Tel a été le cas avec Idriss Déby ou Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz

- l'UA, une organisation plombée par les lourdeurs bureaucratiques, la dépendance financière à l'égard des bailleurs internationaux (3/4 des ressources), l'inaptitude dans la mise en oeuvre des décisions, et des difficultés à se remettre en question

- L'UA se distingue par une dépendance honteuse dans des domaines clefs comme le maintien de la paix et de la sécurité. Sans les milliards engloutis par l'UE dans ces opérations, le seul mérite de l'UA serait d'assister impuissante aux conflits alimentés en grande partie par la mauvaise gouvernance des dictateurs

- l'UA refuse apparemment de s'adapter à une Afrique en pleine mutation

- les Résistants gabonais vont montrer à l'UA que les temps ont changé et que le choix du peuple va triompher indépendamment des manigances en son sein

- à l'UA, Ali Bongo trouve un appui objectif auprès des chefs d'État illégitimes comme lui

- l'UA est une Organisation passéiste qui ne se rend pas compte que le monde a évolué

- l'UA est un club de dictateurs

On ne lâche rien !
