In an article published by Jeune Afrique, Gagan Gupta, Olam's boss in Gabon, said that the Gabonese state now has a modern port at Owendo in Libreville without spending a single CFA franc. This assertion is false and we can prove it.

If you do a search, you will find that in 2015 Ali Bongo awarded the contract for the construction and operation of a mineral terminal to Olam's subsidiary, Gsez Mineral, at the port of Owendo. But how was this project financed?

The amount of the project was CFAF 75.6 billion, and was financed as follows:

1. Olam contributed its own funds amounting to CFAF 24 billion.

2. Two creditors, the Central African Development Bank and BGFI Bank, which provided CFAF 51.6 billion.

The loans granted by these two creditors were guaranteed by the Gabonese State and not by Olam. Therefore, when Gagan Gupta asserts that the State has not spent anything, he is kidding us because the Gabonese taxpayer is the guarantor of these loans of 51.6 billion FCFA.

Dans un article publié par Jeune Afrique, Gagan Gupta, le patron d’Olam au Gabon affirme que l’État Gabonais dispose maintenant d’un port moderne à Owendo à Libreville, sans avoir dépensé un franc CFA. Cette assertion est fausse et nous pouvons le démontrer.

Si vous faites une recherche, vous trouverez que c’est en 2015 qu’Ali Bongo attribua à la filiale d’Olam créée pour cette occasion, Gsez Mineral Port, le contrat de construction et d’exploitation d’un terminal minéralier dans l’enceinte du port d’Owendo. Mais comment fut financé ce projet ?

Le montant du projet était de 75,6 milliards de FCFA, et a été financée comme suit :

1. Olam a apporté des fonds propres s’elevant à 24 milliards de Fcfa.

2. Deux bailleurs de fonds, la Banque de Développement de l’Afrique Centrale et la BGFI Bank, qui ont fourni 51,6 milliards de Fcfa.

Les prêts octroyés par ces deux bailleurs ont été garantis par l’Etat Gabonais et non par Olam. Par conséquent, quand Gagan Gupta affirme que l’Etat n’a rien dépensé, il se moque de nous car le contribuable Gabonais est l’avaliste de ce prêt de 51,6 milliards de Fcfa.

On ne lâche rien et surtout on ne se laissera plus mentir !
