RESPONSE TO AN OP-ED SAID TO BE FREE BUT OBVIOUSLY VERY SKEWED. RÉPONSE Á UNE TRIBUNE DITE LIBRE MAIS FORCÉMENT TRÈS ORIENTÉE

English version

In an Op-Ed published by Gabonreview, the compatriot Hugues Mbadinga Madiya wonders about what he calls "a media assault of a rare violence against the institutions of the Gabonese Republic and more particularly of the first among them: the President of the Republic, Head of State, His Excellency Ali Bongo Ondimba "; by the media and the French judicial system.

These words tell us immediatly where this man is coming from, because his writing is nothing more than a defense of Ali Bongo, in barely veiled terms.

Here is what this blog thinks of the prosecution by this compatriot:

1. In this text of 2896 words (yes we counted them nowhere is mentioned the fundamental reasons for the new Gabonese crisis that we live daily, that is to say the electoral parody that was the proclamation of the results of the presidential election of 2016. If this compatriot had as an objective to offer a thorough analysis of the political situation of Gabon and its future vis-à-vis its relations with France, how to pass over in silence this episode that saw a Prime Minister and a Minister of Foreign Affairs of France, acknowledge first that Ali Bongo's imposture was unacceptable and then take back their words by inviting us to a nauseating dialogue with our torturers?

2. In this text of 2896 words, the name Mborantsuo does not appear at any time, but that of Bourgi appears there 6 times, yes 6 times. On the Gabonese crisis which is current, the author obviously has much more to reproach to Bourgi than to Mborantsuo. And when we know the campaign that the regime is undertaking against Bourgi at this time, we see clearly on which side the author aligns himself.

3. In this text of 2896 words, the terms HQ, bombing, assassination and massacre, are absent. They are not mentioned once.

4. In this text of 2896 words, the author even cites in terms of progress, the partnership between Ali Bongo and the University of Oregon. But does he know at least that this partnership was suspended by this university following the massacres of the Gabonese populations by Ali Bongo? Massacres that the author does not dare to mention in his voluminous text!

Dear readers, can one analyze objectively the current political situation in Gabon and its relations with France, while passing under absolute silence the aspects that we evoke here?

We believe that the author makes clear to us the direction of his writings and we answer to him: no thanks! The author even tries to sell us a low rent nationalism, he who does not mention the dead who fell under Ali Bongo’s bullets. To this we reply: no thanks!

We will not give up!
