It is true that alcohol makes some you forget this rotten world; the suffering of others, this society curled upon itself by the presence above it of a heavy dictatorship.
The rulers know that many Gabonese need to occasionally get away from the grim realities surrounding them. Alcohol provides the comfort and security of oblivion in order to endure in a brutal established system.
In Gabon, the extent of alcohol consumption is part of the standards imposed by the dictatorship; because the regime knows that an alcoholic people cannot objectively and with complete consistency combat the domination and operating conditions they are subjected to.
When you're drunk, it becomes impossible to think, build and fight. Can we then be surprised that Gabon has become the place par excellen…

We all know that the authenticity of an identity is the first step required for every individual living in society. In all administrative services necessary for the proper functioning of a society: police departments, hospitals, educational services etc., the identito-vigilance is required because we must have genuine identity documents proving that we are indeed the person we say we are.
Everyone must submit authentic civil status documents to: take an exam or a contest, apply for a job, perform banking operations such as payment by check or withdrawals at bank counters, take trips abroad, take the driving license test, register as a voter and vote in elections or stand for election as a candidate. The identity of a person is the assertion of their existence in a society; so we really cannot live fully in com…

Of the situation of Gabon’s public debt.
According to statistics from the Debt General Directorate, by 31 December 2008, the stock of Gabon's public debt was 1180 billion CFA francs and represented 17% of GDP. By 31 December 2015, after 7 years, this amount has been multiplied by 2.7 folds, to the amount of 3162 billion CFA francs representing 37% of GDP.
For the IMF office who undertook a mission to Gabon in December 2015, Gabon's public debt is expected to reach 47.7% of GDP in 2016. It could, if left unchecked, exceed 50% of GDP by 2020.
In the 2016 finance act, the debt service amounted to 494.6 billion CFA francs, of which 180.2 billion CFA francs for interest alone. Thus, the debt service represents, in the initial budget for 2016, 24.2% of the state resources estimated a…

THE MODERN EXPRESS HAS BEEN RIGHTED. LE MODERN EXPRESS A ÉTÉ REDRÉSSÉ

English version
The 'Modern Express' has been righted
The work to straighten the 'Modern Express' concluded around noon today; with what, the ship has regained its equilibrium position. The ship, which spent one week without crew adrift in the Gulf of Biscay after suffering a shift of its load, but eventually was rescued and taken to the port of Bilbao on February 3, has since been in the hands of the Dutch company SMIT Salvage, which has conducted the work to right the ship.
Upon completion of the tasks of righting the ship, the Dutch company should deliver the ship to the owner who hired them to save it. Now that this has been accomplished, the owner of the ship must decide whether to download the content in Bilbao or continue the journey and download at the port of destination in France, at Le Havre. Work will be necessary to check how much the machines have suffered during the time the 'Modern Express' drifted or while it was being towed with a pronounced tilt…

LEON PAUL NGOULAKIA WOULD BE DIVIDING THE BONGOS. LÉON PAUL NGOULAKIA DIVISERAIT LES BONGO?

Leon Paul Ngoulakia (photo: Gabonreview)

English version
According to La Lettre du Continent, the political positioning of Leon Paul Ngoulakia has caused a split in the family. Indeed, being the son of the sister of Ali Bongo’s "mother" and therefore his cousin, Leon Paul Ngoulakia’s dissent is pitting several members of this family against each other and is significantly poisoning the cohesion of Ali Bongo’s immediate family circle.
La Lettre du Continent mentions that only a few months before the presidential election, Ali Bongo, who already has all the difficulty in the world to gather the electorate of Haut-Ogooué, really does not need this turmoil within his immediate family circle. The resignation of Leon-Paul Ngoulakia from the PDG instances continues to divide the maternal branch, called of Akieni, of this family. Léon-Paul Ngoulakia has specifically asked the people of Haut-Ogooué to not support what he calls the duo Ali Bongo-Maixent Accrombessi. Already, Léon-Paul Ng…

Ali Bongo as a piece negotiator in Burundi! No this is not the title of a vaudeville play. Unfortunately this is the reality of what comedy chair the buffoon who presides over Gabon.
He proposes his services as a peace negotiator in Burundi; but is it not he who jails his political opponents in Gabon, to prevent them from becoming effective? Is it not he who punishes resistant intellectuals by cutting them from any access to employment to force them to get on all fours in front of him? Is it not he who is carving a "presidency for life" for himself? Is it not he who is wildly enriching himself by robbing the Gabonese people?
Really, Ali Bongo has the ideal profile of a good peace negociator...

EQUAL OPPORTUNITY, WHAT IS IT UNDER ALI BONGO? L’ÉGALITE DES CHANCES, QU’EST-CE QUE C’EST SOUS ALI BONGO?

Image
Ali Bongo (photo: Presidence/Gabon)

English version
By offering a program (another announcement effect) on equal opportunity, which is supposed to offer to the Gabonese people a leveling of probabilities for all citizens to flourish based on their intrinsic potential; Ali Bongo has just reached a new level of comedy.
If in thinking of equal opportunity, we must think about the active struggle against exclusion, discrimination, favoritism, the grabbing of power etc...; then dear readers, the first act of the equal opportunity program in Gabon should be the resignation of Ali Bongo and his family members, from the most important state positions, as their usurpation of public affairs since 1967 is one of the most scandalous in the world today and is stifling the rise of many Gabonese who have no choice but to languish in dictatorship.
Who could think that Ali Bongo and his governance could pilot a program promoting the concept of solidarity and social responsibility in Gabon? This theme is i…

WHAT ARE THE AIMS OF THE PROPOSED INCLUSIVE AND WITHOUT TABOOS DIALOGUE? QUELS SONT LES OBJECTIFS DU PROPOSÉ DIALOGUE INCLUSIF ET SANS TABOUS?

Inclusive dialogue without taboos; the term is certainly attractive, but it is empty or full of meaning? The answer needs to be found, because dialogue is good, but still we need to know what we are talking about when we dialogue! What are the objectives of the various parties and what resolutions do they want to produce as a result of this dialogue that would be done without taboos. At this point, dear readers, the shadows are too numerous to inspire confidence.
For this blog, the only dialogue that deserves attention is the one that would take place to achieve the conditions that can lead Ali Bongo to accept to be led into a decisive corridor which outcome would be to create the necessary and sufficient conditions for his removal from power. At present, we are aware that such a compromise to safeguard the peaceful future of Gabon, is impossible with the Ali Bongo dictatorship that does not conceive …

Misery makes some of our compatriots do strange things; convincing them that seeking the sustainability of Ali Bongo in power is the best thing that could happen to the country. We understand these young compatriots of the Collective of Young Patriots and we offer 10 concrete arguments that could be used by them as argument to those who dare to question their enthusiasm for the choice of Ali Bongo as president for life like his father, until at his death, the same people call for Noureddine Bongo to come to the rescue to continue the work now eternal. These arguments are not from us; we borrowed them from a Tunisian author, but we find them appropriate for helping these young compatriots justify their enthusiasm for the maintenance of t…

So Ali Bongo was not elected! So, his presence at the head of the Gabonese State is perfectly illegitimate! Your revelation on the show "On n’est pas couché," is a first, Mr. Valls. A first that makes us glad, a first that frustrates us.
It pleases us because finally, the miasma of Françafrique is overflowing from the slums of Conakry and Libreville to stink all the way to the paneling of Matignon. Because finally, a French statesman in office dares to evoke the ultimate taboo: that of secret financing and rigged elections.
It frustrates us because it is too little and maybe too late. Because already, your collaborators are confounded in apologies and circumlocutions of the sort that happens every time the spoiled little dictators in Africa feel scratched by their Parisian patrons. ... Because in a few days, spectacular effusions and champagne sales pitches would have erased the sensibilities and put all t…
