THE SAME WHO COMPLAIN THAT THE GABONESE CITIZEN ARE DEFENDING THEIR SOVEREIGNTY, HAVE NEVER CRITIZED THEIR FRENCH FRIENDS IN GABON FOR VOTING FOR THE RIGHT WING. LES MÊMES QUI REPROCHENT AUX GABONAIS DE DÉFENDRE LEUR SOUVERAINETÉ, N’ONT JAMAIS REPROCHÉ À LEURS AMIS FRANÇAIS DU GABON DE VOTER POUR LA DROITE

English version

Dear readers, if you want to measure the hypocrisy of those who are trying to get on their high horse and accuse courageous Gabonese citizens determined to preserve what little sovereignty they have left, it is sufficient to look at voter attitudes of the French in Gabon. Looking closely at the attitude of these people over Gabonese citizens and their electoral preferences.

Take the case of Christian Kerangall, the CEO of Compagnie du Komo we are told is perfectly integrated into the social fabric of the country to the point that he would make a perfect Mayor of Libreville. We are willing to accept that, but if we look closely, what do we see?

1. What the Compagnie du Como (CDK)? It is auto dealers: Sodim TP, Toyota Gabon, GESPARC. It is a seller of public works equipment: Sodim TP. It is a seller of office equipment: Electra. It is refrigeration services: Sogafric. It is banking: BGFI. It is investments in the SEEG, Finatra, mining, stock exchange BVMAC, rail, real estate and timber. In its 2012 annual report, the CDK declared revenues of 144 billion CFA francs.

2. Who runs the CDK? It is obvious that if you look at the boards of large French companies, you will find mostly French citizens, major U.S. companies are run mostly by Americans, Chinese corporations by Chinese, Japanese ones by Japanese etc. It is a truism, is not it? Since Kerangall is Gabonese and that the CDK is a Gabonese company, thus who sits on its board of directors? They are the following “gabonese” citizens: M. Christian Kerangall, CEO, Mrs. Martine GOMEZ, Director, M. Robert BOUTONNET, Administrator, Mr. Christian Renoux, Director.

Dear readers, we all know the trick; Christian Kerangall and his friends at the head of the CDK simply represent the interests of those who are contemporary masters of Gabon. They hold the entire big economy of the country. They play the leading roles and do not hide it. They like to show they are powerful, and mainly defend their own economic interests. To say this is not being xenophobic, but to simply recognize the reality.

If these people are Gabonese, how do they express this citizenship? Do these people work in harmony with other Gabonese citizens or in isolation within their own expatriate community? Do they have a relationship of trust with the Gabonese people (other than the Bongos) or relations of distrust and suspicion? The question that must be asked without wearing glove is whether the Kerangall gang is representative of the Gabonese people? A key indicator of the attitude of these friendly expatriates toward the Gabonese or African people is their electoral choices in their homeland, France.

The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs compiles all the statistics related to the French vote from abroad. A look at the figures of the French in Gabon indicates that they are rather conservative partisans. Thus, in the second round of presidential elections in 2012, the French in Gabon chose Nicolas Sarkozy by 62 % of the vote against Hollande 38%. In the first round, if the votes for Marine Le Pen were added to those of Sarkozy, compared to those of Hollande and Mélenchon, we would obtain a ratio of 70% in Gabon for the right and 30% for the left. So dear readers, who are these people who have settled in Gabon of who by margins of more than 70 %, find the French far right to their liking? Do the Gabonese people have to trust them and be led by them in their own country? But who harbor of racism in them? In France, who speaks of the famous “national preference” if not the far right of the National Front and the UMP? Who said: “The day when there will be as many minarets as cathedrals in France, it will no longer be France?" it is Pascal Clement, a former Minister of Justice, a member of the UMP, during a plenary session of the National Assembly, the UMP which is preferred by the French in Gabon. Who said: "When more ethnically, culturally, spiritually diverse communities, coexist on the same territory, history teaches us that it always ends in tragedy?" It is Bruno Gollnisch, a member of the National Front and a European parliamentarian, the National Front for which many French settlers in Gabon vote. Dear readers, who is xenophobic and racist in all of this?

Our goal in asking these questions is not to raise passions, but to put our finger where it hurts and openly discuss this taboo question wanting that that anyone could be imposed on the Gabonese people and that these Gabonese people can never have complaints about the morality of what is imposed upon them.
