THE COLLAPSE OF EDUCATION IS A SYMPTOM OF THAT OF SOCIETY. L'EFFONDREMENT DE L'ÉDUCATION EST UN SYMPTÔME DE CELUI DE LA SOCIÉTÉ

Dear readers, when looking at Gabon and what is happening in the area of education, it becomes clear that we are witnessing "live" to events that are symptoms in a sensitive organ (education), of the abuses inflicted by those who feel that they are the owners of Gabon, to our national corpus. Since education is the canary in the mine, which plays a role of sentinel and allows us to judge the state of decay of the whole Gabonese system. In other words, education in Gabon is like alcoholic liver that has cirrhosis because of what that alcoholic (the regime) does. So as liver with cirrhosis, the Gabonese education system is no longer able to fulfill its primary mission and shows more and more signs of haven gotten to the brink.
1. Is the Gabonese regime aware of the civilizational value of education?
Ask an American what explains the hegemony of their nation, and he would certainly say: its economic and military strength, one being the result of the other. Then he …

Singaporeans demonstrating against immigration Des singaporiens manifestant contre l'immigration

The Singaporean government faced with public the general public anger over immigration and difficult as well as pricy living costs, announced this week that it would tighten the growth of the foreign workforce in their country. The Singaporean government has announced new draconian measures pressuring businesses to eliminate their reliance on foreign labor and promised to boost Singaporean citizens' wages. Why is this important? You may ask; it is important because at the same time Singapore is doing everything to protect itself against foreign dependence, a Singaporean company Olam, is taking what is our most precious treasure, our land. In the meantime, the Gabonese people are looking at Brazilian behinds.

By now, you must already know that in Singapore, it is almost impossible for foreigners to own any land. This has historically been the case in that country. You se…

HAS REASON REACHED HER TWILIGHT IN GABON? LA RAISON EST-ELLE Á SON CRÉPUSCULE AU GABON?

Are we all mad? Do we all walk on our heads? Is reason now in its twilight in Gabon? How can we all have one foot in misery, and ignore it with the certainty of a Judas? How can we reconcile the contradictory reality of the brutal misery of Gabonese people, with the explosive and expensive hedonism of those who govern us? How can one know that their relatives live in poverty and soberly in neighborhoods which have the misfortune to collect 90% of the populace, and think that a pseudo carnival with imported expensive fairies from Brazil, would affect the economy in a sense that goes in the direction of improving the living conditions of the Gabonese people. How can you have a brain that works and think that the carnival would drain tourists en masse to Libreville? How can we fail to notice that a tourist wanting to pleasure himself between the thighs of a Brazilian will go for his sex tourism to Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo or Salvador de Bahia, instead of coming to Gabon? …

When you think that the Bongo regime has bottomed out, has reached the depths of indecency, that it can not go further into decadence, he proves that his negligence in the calibration of its activities in relation to the aspirations the people, is boundless and limitless. Indeed, dear readers, Ali Bongo has not yet bottomed out, he continues to dig! A carnival, because it is what we are talking about here, is not an event that can be stamped anywhere, anyhow and on any people, a carnival has an historical, a cultural significance, before becoming simply an opportunity for collective enjoyment. When this is understood, we may well ask in which framework to register the famous international carnival of Libreville? What is its meaning? Its ins and outs? What are we celebrating? What justifies this event?
1. A carnival does not appear by spontaneous generation, it has an historical, religious and cultural logic
The carnival of Rio de Janeiro, the biggest carnival in the world…

WHAT IS THE PEOPLE'S REPRESENTATION FOR THE SOVEREIGN NATIONAL CONFERENCE?

Given the energy, initiative and ingenuity deployed by the free civil society to advance the rather well received idea of a Sovereign National Conference (SNC), some small minds in Gabon want to confuse the issue by posing ridiculous problems such as the argument wanting that Marc Ona Essangui has no right to speak on behalf of Gabonese people or that the 15000 signatures already obtained would not be representative of the population. So, what is the meaning of representation in a context like the one about organizing an SNC?

Let us start with the most simple, meaning the representation by the numbers. The free Civil Society has already received more than 15000 signatures of Gabonese citizens in favor holding these sessions. This represents more than 1% of the Gabonese population. But small minds say that 1% may not be representative of the population and therefore there is no popular mandate f…

"When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty." Thomas Jefferson.

The Sovereign National Conference (SNC) that in preparation follows its course and a timeline of activities is being developed. Marc Ona Essangui in a recent interview affirmed that yet again. For us, the most salient fact of that interview was that a new psychological Rubicon had been crossed, meaning the determination of Marc Ona Essangui and his colleagues organizers to have a National Conference that is SOVEREIGN please, without the involvement of the regime! Small minds would not understand the importance of the psychological threshold in question, these people who believe that populations can be controlled with batons and tear gas inhalation. The psychological threshold that the SNC will make Gabonese citizen cross is one that will allow people to go from being dominated and rather passive to a people that produces and shape…

AMERICAN DIPLOMACY RECOGNIZES THE WORK OF PAULETTE OYANE ONDO. LA DIPLOMATIE AMÉRICAINE RECONNAIT LE TRAVAIL DE PAULETTE OYANE ONDO

The news has just been made public that our compatriot, Paulette Oyane Ondo, will be officially visiting the USA in March, to primarily receive an honor distinction at the US State Department and also for a series of conferences around the United States. This award will recognize Paulette Oyane Ondo's leadership, courage, resourcefulness and willingness to fight and sacrifice for others, especially for better promotion of human's rights.
This is with no doubt, one of the most distinguished awards ever received by a Gabonese citizen and it demonstrates that hard work and perseverance always pays in the end. But the other very important aspect of this award is that despite appearances of complacency, western countries are keenly aware of what going on in Africa and in Gabon in particular and they know who is who; they can distinguish the people who are serious and competent from those who are a waste of human space and just in power because of nepotism et autocracy…

THE SCANDAL IN EDUCATION: MORE THAN 3000 CROWDED CLASSROOMS. LE SCANDALE DE L'EDUCATION: PLUS DE 3000 SALLES DE CLASSES ONT DES SUREFFECTIFS

Image
English version

During the negotiations between the teachers' union, CONASYSED, and the regime, it appeared that in Gabon, there are over 3000 overcrowded classrooms, meaning with more than 35 students per class, the threshold recognized by educators as the mark beyond which it becomes difficult to administer courses under appropriate conditions. Dear readers, over 3000 classrooms! The actual number is not known because in Gabon statistics are never updated, but everyone agrees on the minimum of 3000. What is the plan to remedy this situation? There is no dynamic of construction of new schools; yet, billions are included in the Finance Act for financing the construction of golf courses and Richard Attias is preparing to again pick up his billions by organizing next June, another useless forum. The country has its priorities in order!
1. The challenge of overcrowded classrooms
Overcrowding undermines the Gabonese education system so much that several tricks have been attempted. They h…
